Dr. Bill Bethea, Senior Pastor

Dr. Bethea was born in Dillon, SC.  He is a graduate of Clemson University (B.S. Horticulture 1981) and Bob Jones University (M.Div. 1987) and received an honorary Doctor of Divinity degree from Ambassador Baptist College (D.D. 2008).  He served as Youth Pastor of Northside Baptist Church in Charleston, SC for 9 years before moving to Calvary Baptist Church, Simpsonville, SC to serve as Assistant Pastor in 1996.  In 1998 he was called to serve as Senior Pastor of Westgate.  He is married to Kathryn (Poore) Bethea and they have 5 children; (Will, Katelyn, Jonathan, Hudson and Lauren).

Rev. Tony Seiber, Assistant Pastor (Senior Adults)

Pastor Seiber has 35 years of experience in education and administration (16 at Westgate).  He holds degrees from the University of Tennesee (B.S. Ed) and BJU (M.S. Admin.).  Pastor Seiber serves as the administrator of our Christian school and holds an Advanced Professional Certification from the South Carolina Association of Christian Schools.  He also directs our Senior Adult ministry (Point Guards).  He and his wife, Patti, have 5 sons and 14 grandchildren.

Dr. David Parker, Assistant Pastor (Music)

Dr. Parker is a native of Davisburg, Michigan and has earned a B.S. in Education, M.A. in Voice Performance, BJU and D.M.A. in Voice Performance, University of Michigan.  He is a member of the National Association of Teachers of Singing.  He is also president and founder of C&L Enterprises and SacredSheetMusic.com, publishing sacred music. Dr. Parker joined the Westgate staff in January of 2006. He and Linda have 2 daughters, Rebecca and Sarah.

Rev. Mark Hurley, Youth Pastor Email Pastor Mark 

Pastor Mark is a graduate of Northland International University and has a Master’s Degree from Bob Jones University.  He, and his wife Lisa, Joined our staff in January, 2012.

Rev. Mike Washer (National Hoops), Staff Evangelist

Pastor Washer served as Youth Pastor of Westgate Baptist Church for 5+ years.  During that time he developed a very successful outreach ministry to teens.  Burdened to broaden his evangelistic message to teens all over America, he launched National Hoops Ministry.  WBC is honored to continue its support of this family and their ministry to lost young people.  For more information on the Washers and National Hoops please visit their website at www.nationalhoops.com.

Mr. Jeff Hoyt, Business Manager

Mr. Hoyt was born in Mt. Pleasant, MI in 1961.  He was Valedictorian of Freesoil High School, Freesoil, MI in 1979.  He is a graduate of Bob Jones University with a B.S. in Accounting.  Jeff married Dorcas McKay in 1985 – Dorcas is a graduate of Clearwater Christian College, 1983 – English Teacher here at WCS since 1996. They have one daughter, Tabitha, born 1991 – graduate of WCS – currently a sophomore majoring in Human Resource Development at Bob Jones University.  They have been members of Westgate Baptist Church since 1991.

Work History:

• 1 year Business Manager at a clothing store in Hendersonville, NC
• 2 years at a CPA firm in Hendersonville, NC – corporate & governmental auditing, and individual & corporate tax return preparation.
• 23 years in Management with the New York Times, 19 of those years at the Spartanburg Herald-Journal, Spartanburg, SC
• Business Manager at Westgate Baptist Church since May 2010
